The explosion in TV programming and channels has led to a surge in demand for on-screen talent. This has resulted in opportunities being created for new faces who have overnight gone on to become stars with huge fan followings both in India and other countries where their TV shows are viewed. The talent has emerged from all over India – villages, small cities, large towns and metropolitan cities.

Young girls and boys have leapt onto the TV acting bandwagon, in some cases outstripping some of the more established TV actors in the popularity sweepstakes.
